Not to be underestimated, though, are the large number of Americans effected by the issues presented in this film and the demographics of these persons. This documentary focuses on girls; girls who have parents. Parents, in dealing with these issues in their children and friend's children, are often overwhelmed by the large amount of conflicting information and advice from different therapists. Funding this film would, in most cases, be something that these individuals would be interested in doing because it will help them in their own journey through the conflicting studies, information, and attitudes on the subject. Therefore, every effort will be made to secure funding from private individuals in the form of mailings, house parties, and fund raising events. Organizations such as SAFE will be contacted not only for interviews with staff employees but also to help in procuring funding from private donors who may also fund SAFE and other like organizations. Finally, there are many doctors, therapists, and other mental health professionals working on these issues and these individuals, besides being involved in the project, may also be interested in contributing to it. |
